Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Safety Case Engineer to lead the development and management of safety cases, hazard analyses, and regulatory compliance across major nuclear projects. The role involves delivering high-quality technical work, mentoring junior staff, and liaising with clients and regulators to solve complex safety challenges.

Applicants should have Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) and substantial experience in safety case delivery within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

Experience delivering safety cases in a highly regulated environment.
Ability to write clear, structured safety arguments and justifications.
Strong communication skills with stakeholders and regulators.

Responsibilities

Produce and manage Safety Case documents and safety reports.
Lead Hazard identification studies (HAZID/HAZOP) and risk assessments.
Represent the business in technical meetings with clients and regulators.
Mentor junior team members and share best practices across projects.
Ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
