Job summary

Assystem GmbH in Glasgow is seeking a Safety Case Manager to lead safety activities within highly regulated environments across nuclear, defence and critical national infrastructure. You will operate as a technical authority, setting expectations, assuring quality, and influencing safety decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong UK regulatory knowledge (ONR/DNSR), proven Safety Case experience and excellent stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Safety Case development, management, and assurance.
• Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including ONR and/or DNSR.
• Ability to act as a trusted technical authority across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management with senior leaders, regulators, and technical specialists.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and integration of Safety Cases across design, construction, and operational phases.
• Assure safety arguments, supporting evidence, and hazard management approaches.
• Provide oversight of safety strategies and Safety Case justification plans.
• Challenge design and safety assumptions to ensure proportionate, compliant, and defensible outcomes.
• Engage with customers, stakeholders, delivery partners, and regulators to provide technical advice.
