Qualifications

• Assist in staff supervision as directed by the Care Home Manager.
• Participate in counselling sessions and where required, the disciplinary process.
• Assist the Care Home Manager in identifying staff training needs.
• Participate in service training programmes and attend relevant courses/conferences.
• Compile duty staff rotas.
• Previous experience in a care home, hospital, or similar kitchen environment is desirable but not essential.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and residents.
• Compassionate and patient by nature with a sincere interest in improving residents' lives.
• Physical ability to stand long periods and perform manual handling and cleaning tasks.
• Positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Care for residents as part of daily routine and care home operations.
• Assist in the development of individual care plans including nutritional needs, pressure sore prevention, moving and handling, continence management.
• Help residents with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.
• Assist residents with mobility issues and use of aids and equipment.
• Care for residents who are temporarily ill or require minor dressings and bed nursing.
• Support residents who are dying and provide comfort.
• Make beds, tidy rooms, light cleaning and empty commodes.
• Inspect resident laundry and coordinate with the housekeeper.
