Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is assisting a traditional rural police force in the United Kingdom to recruit a Network Manager. You will oversee a six-person network and voice engineering team, guiding data, voice, security and cloud-connected infrastructure with hands-on credibility.

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise networking background.
• Previous network team leadership or management experience.
• Excellent LAN and WAN knowledge.
• Strong routing and switching fundamentals.
• Good understanding of enterprise firewalls.
• Experience across network security technologies.
• Understanding of voice and unified communications.
• Comfortable working across Cisco environments.
• Technically capable of challenging and supporting senior engineers.
• Experience managing incidents and technical escalations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of six network and voice engineers.
• Provide technical leadership across the network estate.
• Manage both data and voice engineering functions.
• Support and develop engineers across Levels 3 and 4.
• Provide senior escalation for complex infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational resilience across critical services.
• Oversee infrastructure upgrades and technical projects.
• Work with internal teams, suppliers and technology partners.
• Manage workload, priorities and engineering resources.
• Maintain technical standards across the environment.
