Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking an ICT Technical Specialist (Networking Technologies) to own wired, wireless, mobile, voice and data services across the trust, guiding strategic planning and daily delivery.

You will translate complex requirements into secure, future-proof networking solutions while shaping governance in line with NHS ITIL, PRINCE2 and TOGAF. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate level education or senior level experience in networking.
• Evidence of significant personal development through formal courses.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead SME for networking technologies across the trust.
• Provide authoritative advice on specialist network requirements and deliver key projects.
• Contribute to IT Assurance framework aligned with NHS governance, ITIL, PRINCE2 and TOGAF.
• Oversee lifecycle management of networking assets and services outside the datacentre.
• Draft technical specifications and evaluate supplier proposals during tenders.
