Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Senior IT Officer to join the Network and Telecoms team. The role delivers and maintains a wide range of network and telephony technologies essential to patient care, including Cisco campus networks, remote sites, firewall estate, Teams Collaboration, Unify IP and DECT systems.

You will work with End User Computing and Server, and collaborate with specialist IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd/4th line network and telecoms support in collaboration with in-house and third-party SMEs.
• Contribute to future design workshops, production of technical roadmaps, tendering exercises and evaluation of new technologies.
• Participate in proof of concepts to validate new networking and telephony solutions.

Job description

Due to internal advancement an opportunity has arisen to join the IT Infrastructure team as a Senior IT Officer in the Network and Telecoms. The team are responsible for delivering and maintaining of a wide range of network and telephony technologies critical to the running of the Trust and delivery of patient care. These include a large Cisco campus network, over 30 remote sites, an enterprise scale Cisco firewall estate, Teams Collaboration, Unify IP and DECT telephony systems.

37 Hours 30 Minutes/Week

As an experienced IT professional you will work within the Network and Telecoms team, and wider IT Infrastructure department. This will be predominantly with End User Computing and Server, however you will also work with specialist IT teams supporting specific areas of the Trust.

Working within a high performing team you will be required to work closely with third party and in house subject matter experts to provide 3rd/ 4thline network and telecoms support. The role also plays an active role in future design workshops, production of technical roadmaps, tendering exercises, evaluation of new technologies and proof of concepts.
