The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other related hardware. The Senior Engineer will also troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with travel (field) required.

What you'll do

1. Customer Design:
   • Maintain expert-level understanding of our technical products and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, tailoring messages for different audiences.
   • Support presales activities by collaborating with the Presales team, providing technical expertise on-site and remotely.
   • Conduct testing and validation of new equipment, technologies, and services to ensure interoperability before deployment.
   • Lead technical design and implementation of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting.
2. In-Life Operations:
   • Provide third-line support for complex network issues and manage customer relationships.
   • Oversee operational delivery of projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
   • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
   • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
   • Manage configuration changes and maintain vendor relationships.

What you'll bring:

• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Network design experience, including SD-WAN.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of 802.11 wireless technologies and experience with design tools like Ekahau.
• Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Understanding of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre systems is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
