Senior Network Analyst

Full time, permanent

Hours: 37

We are looking for a Senior Network Analyst to join our Networks Team, providing a comprehensive range of services to customers including the purchasing, installation, configuration and technical support of the network infrastructure (LAN & WAN).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing network infrastructure hardware and software (e.g. switches, routers, firewalls) in line with agreed timescales and organisational standards.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to users experiencing issues accessing the corporate network or authorised external systems.
  • Maintaining the security of the corporate network in accordance with the organisation’s Network Security Policy and best practice.
  • Monitoring network performance and take proactive measures to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Delivering formal training sessions and technical presentations to users and colleagues as needed.

You will have:

  • An excellent working knowledge of Network security administration
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to produce reports and present information to customers at all levels within the Authority, and suppliers.
  • Experience of installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware (e.g. switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points).
  • Experience of managing and monitoring network performance
  • Experience of implementing and supporting VPNs
  • Ability to provide technical support and advice to other team members and customers.

This is an essential car user post as the demands of the job make it operationally essential and there is a contractual requirement to make a suitable vehicle available to ensure the requirements of the job can be carried out effectively.

In the event of network outages, you may, on occasion, be required to work outside of standard office hours to ensure continuity of critical services.We ask that you are geographically located within a short distance of Solihull to enable a timely response.
