Job summary

TIDE, part of Anglian Water Group, is seeking a skilled C# / .NET engineer to help develop our Azure services and modernise existing applications. You’ll design, develop and maintain C#/.NET apps and APIs, taking features from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment and support.

We combine new development with practical modernisation as we shift toward an Azure-based stack using Container Apps, Service Bus and React frontends, all in a hybrid working model with 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining C# / .NET applications and APIs.
• Strong understanding of API design and asynchronous programming patterns.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, including EF Core.
• Experience writing automated tests and validating changes.
• Experience deploying or supporting applications in Azure across environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git, plus code reviews.
• Practical troubleshooting approach with evidence-based reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve C# / .NET applications and APIs with clean architecture.
• Work with Data using EF Core and Azure SQL; evaluate Cosmos DB where appropriate.
• Build and support async workflows using Azure Service Bus and MassTransit.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps pipelines and Bicep infrastructure for consistent releases.
• Investigate issues using logs and diagnostics; address root causes.
• Gradually replace MVC/Angular with React interfaces, where feasible.
• Review code, discuss implementation choices, and raise engineering standards.
