Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse (Band 6) to join St Helier Neonatal Services. The role is full-time, permanent, and based at St Helier Hospital in Carshalton, with a 37.5 hour week including day, night, and weekend shifts.

The post requires leadership, advanced neonatal care, and a commitment to family-centered care and BLISS accreditation objectives. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support families

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a level 2/3 neonatal unit.
• Understanding of BFI/BLISS/FIC/TC and family-integrated care.
• Facilitating and teaching pre-reg and CPD students.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership for nursing and support staff in neonatal services.
• Ensure safe, evidence-based care across units.
• Mentor and support junior staff with education and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols and policies.
• Provide emotional support and education to families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and governance.
• Respond to emergencies with neonatal resuscitation expertise.
