Job summary

The Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council seek an experienced Housing Officer to deliver high-quality neighbourhood and tenancy services in North Worcestershire. You will support and mentor a team of Neighbourhood & Tenancy Officers and Advisors to work professionally and in compliance with housing legislation.

Key requirements include a Level 3 housing qualification, at least 3 years in housing or related social housing roles, and a minimum of 1 year in a senior or managerial

Responsibilities

• Provide everyday practical support, guidance and mentoring to the team of Neighbourhood & Tenancy Officers and Advisors.
• Deliver statutory housing services in compliance with Acts of Housing and related legislation.
• Support officers, systems and processes in operating the Housing Service.
• Manage a small patch of properties while leading the team to deliver services efficiently.
• Assist the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team Leader to ensure senior staff meet role requirements.

Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. The role

• Provide everyday practical support, guidance and mentoring to the team of Neighbourhood & Tenancy Officers and Advisors, to professionally and compliantly deliver the Councils statutory housing services in accordance with the Acts of Housing, Localism, Leaseholders, Local Government, Anti-Social Behaviour Act, ASB Crime & Policing Act, Prevention of Social Housing Fraud, and other relevant legislation, policy and best practice.
• Support all officers, systems, and processes in operating the Housing Service.

Key Requirements

• To manage a small patch of properties, while wholeheartedly and positively supporting and leading the Neighbourhood & Tenancy Officers and Advisor to professionally and compliantly deliver the Councils statutory housing and leaseholder services under the Housing Act and other relevant legislation.
• Support the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team Leader in ensuring that all Neighbourhood and Tenancy Officers are delivering the requirements of their roles as set out in the Job Description and Person Specification.

Skills & experience

• A min level 3 qualification related to housing management or social housing practices.
• At least 3 years demonstrable experience specific to the role, or demonstrable experience, with transferable skills within the social housingsector.
• At least 1 year relevant and recent experience in a senior or managerial role
