Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC pre‑contract experience to join an established civil engineering contractor near Redhill. You will work on complex projects at intermediate or senior level, developing pre‑contract strategies and commercial packages for major infrastructure work.

The role focuses on hands-on delivery and proactive ownership, with opportunities to influence commercial development during early stages of an infrastructure programme, and to work closely

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and pre-contract development.
• Proven ability to compile subcontract packages and ITTs.
• Strong negotiation and risk management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of major civil engineering work packages.
• Develop and compile subcontract packages.
• Produce scopes of work and commercial documentation.
• Prepare and issue ITTs.
• Review subcontractor returns and support commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions.
• Manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Work with NEC contracts and related mechanisms.
• Support change management, variations and compensation events.
• Collaborate with operational, engineering and project teams.
• Maintain strong commercial governance throughout the lifecycle.
