Job summary

Pinnacle Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor's Highways division in the UK. The hybrid role is office-based in Warrington, collaborating with operational teams, subcontractors, clients and senior leadership.

You will lead a commercial team, drive value through change control, manage cost reporting and WIP, and support cash flow targets across a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS in highways or civil sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts is essential.
• Experience developing and managing subcontracts and commercial agreements.
• Excellent organisation, analytical skills, and stakeholder communication.
• Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel) and professional presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including dispute resolution where required.
• Drive value maximisation through effective change control and contract management.
• Ensure accurate weekly cost reporting, valuations, and WIP management.
• Prepare payment applications and support cash flow targets.
• Provide commercial insight to Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and the Commercial Manager.
• Support annual budget preparation, monthly reforecasting, and profit & loss reporting.
• Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience, to work for a major contractor within its Highways division, In this role, you'll play a key part in managing commercial performance, leading our commercial team, and supporting successful delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects.

The role is Hybrid, office-based in Warrington, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership.

• Highly organised, analytical, and confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel) and clear, professional presentation abilities.
