Job summary

Carrington West is actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC pre-contract experience for a major civil engineering contractor near Redhill. The role involves hands-on pre-contract development and commercial leadership on complex packages, with 3 days per week split between project sites and the office.

The ideal candidate will have experience in main/principal contractor environments, strong NEC knowledge, and the ability to develop subcontract scopes, ITTs and commercial

Qualifications

• Experience with main or principal contractor environments.
• Strong NEC contracts knowledge.
• Pre-contract and commercial development experience.
• Experience compiling subcontract packages and ITTs.
• Proactive, delivery-focused with negotiation skills.
• Collaborative with project and operations teams.
• Nice to have aviation or airport infrastructure exposure.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of major civil work packages.
• Develop and compile subcontract packages.
• Produce scopes of work and commercial documents.
• Prepare and issue ITTs.
• Review subcontractor returns and support evaluations.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts.
• Manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Work with NEC contracts and related mechanisms.
• Support change management and compensation events.
• Collaborate with operational, engineering and project teams.
• Maintain strong commercial governance across the lifecycle.
