Just Eat Takeaway.com in the U.K. seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Growth & Customer Experience Engineering team, driving architecture for end-to-end ML systems and scaling product recommendations. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Data Scientists and PMs, and own delivery from discovery to production.

The role is hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days from home) with Bristol/London as locations, offering the chance to impact millions of customers daily.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and software engineering principles applied to ML
• Experience designing and operating ML systems in production
• Knowledge of serving patterns (REST APIs, batch inference, event-driven)
• Ability to influence infrastructure and tooling decisions
• Strong knowledge of IaC and containerization
• Familiarity with data engineering fundamentals to debug data flows
• Proactive mindset to automate manual processes

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Backend Engineers to bridge model development and production systems
• Lead end-to-end ML system architecture from data ingestion to real-time inference and monitoring
• Transform prototypes into robust, scalable production software with ownership from discovery to production
• Promote MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, model versioning, feature stores)
• Communicate ML system complexities (latency vs. accuracy) to stakeholders
• Build and maintain a network across Data and Engineering to integrate ML systems with the platform
• Lead projects, mentor peers, and advocate for engineering excellence in data science
