Job summary

Roche in Welwyn Hatfield is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable AI/ML systems and data infrastructure that accelerate drug discovery.

You will partner with scientists, product managers, and DevOps to deploy robust models, optimize performance, and help shape architectural decisions across the stack. The role is hybrid, onsite three days per week in Welwyn, with relocation not available.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Strong ML theory and algorithms knowledge with practical experience in ML engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test scalable AI/ML systems and data infrastructure.
• Build tools to evaluate AI/ML model performance and quality.
• Partner with product managers and scientists to translate user needs into robust architectures.
• Develop and maintain data systems for diverse scientific data powering analytics and ML.
• Implement and evaluate new AI/ML algorithms and techniques.
• Shape architectural decisions and contribute to development processes across the stack.
