Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Mining Project Manager to lead major capital projects near Randburg, Gauteng, overseeing scope, budget and schedules. You will coordinate engineering teams, contractors and suppliers while ensuring health and safety compliance and stakeholder alignment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mining project management, strong leadership, and familiarity with PMI/Prince2 and PM software such as MS Project or Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's degree in Project Management or MBA is a strong advantage.
• 10+ years of mining & minerals project management experience with large-capital projects.
• Knowledge of PMI/Prince2 and project software tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and delivery of major mining projects within scope, budget and schedule.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, resources, risk and stakeholder plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors and suppliers.
• Monitor progress, address deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Manage contracts and procurement activities.
• Provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Foster stakeholder relationships and drive best practices in PM.
