Job summary

A Chemical Project Engineer is sought to manage capital projects in Randburg. You will oversee planning, design, and implementation of new facilities and process upgrades, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree and at least five years of project engineering or management experience in the chemical sector, with a proven ability to lead projects from inception to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical project engineering or PM.
• Proven experience managing capital projects from initiation to closure.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of process design, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of chemical engineering projects from conceptual design to commissioning.
• Develop project scope, budgets, and detailed schedules.
• Oversee procurement of equipment and services and manage contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance for smooth handover and startup.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
