Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing large operational teams in open pit or underground mining environments.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and execution principles.
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Randburg and adhere to shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ground support.
• Ensure all mining activities comply with the approved mine plan, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mine supervisors, shift bosses, and operational personnel.
• Monitor KPIs for safety, production, cost, and equipment utilization, implementing corrective actions.
• Foster a strong safety culture, promoting proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, geology, and HSE to optimize operations.
• Oversee resource allocation to achieve production targets.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, implementing preventative measures.
• Contribute to short-term and medium-term production planning.
