Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, overseeing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance to maximize plant reliability.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial maintenance, 2+ in supervision, strong leadership, and CMMS proficiency. This is an on-site role with on-call duties and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• On-site Randburg, Gauteng, with on-call duties.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS software.
• Health and safety regulations knowledge (OSHA-like).

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance team, schedule and assign work.
• Implement preventive maintenance to reduce failures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in maintenance activities.
• Manage spare parts inventory and availability of components.
• Review maintenance reports and analyze equipment performance.
• Train and mentor maintenance technicians.
• Coordinate maintenance with production to minimize disruption.
• Manage external contractors when specialized services are required.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and equipment history.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
