Job summary

GE Aerospace in Cheltenham is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the rollout of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at the Cheltenham site, the first deployment in a wider global upgrade programme. You will work with the IT Project Manager to manage the full site implementation from planning through go-live, ensuring on-time delivery and minimal production disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive project management experience delivering complex digital or manufacturing system projects in industry.
• Experience implementing MES/ERP or similar shop-floor systems in live production environments.
• Proven ability to manage schedule, budget, and scope with measurable results.
• Risk and issue management with mitigation and escalation.
• Experience working with external suppliers and managing contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of the site MES project from planning through design, build, test, deployment and stabilisation.
• Develop an integrated site schedule covering design, configuration, infrastructure, data readiness, testing, training, cutover and change management.
• Drive stage-gate reviews with stakeholders and document decisions, scope and priorities.
• Establish and manage the site baseline for schedule and budget, and forecast completion.
• Maintain risk/issue logs with owners and mitigation plans.
• Protect production continuity by planning cutovers and data migrations around production windows.
• Coordinate training, floor support and hypercare for a stable transition.
• Lead cross-functional site core team and align with safety, quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage MES supplier contracts and performance, including change requests and governance.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and decisions to leadership and sponsors.
