Job summary

Kier Group in Darlington, North East, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEPH) to join Kier Mechanical & Electrical, driving commercial success on complex projects across custodial, commercial, health & science sectors.

You will manage commercial resources, lead procurement, deliver valuations and monthly cost reports, and mentor junior staff within a supportive team. A degree in QS with SMSTS/CSCS and JCT/NEC contract knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying; SMSTS/CSCS card.
• Experience delivering schemes with JCT or NEC contract forms.
• Technical understanding of MEPH services and package interfaces.
• Proactive problem solver with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial resources to maximise margin through contracts and subcontracts.
• Undertaking valuations, measuring change, and producing monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Leading procurement activities including subcontract enquiries, tender reviews and order production.
• Assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst driving margin improvement.
• Mentoring junior commercial staff and fostering their development.
