Job summary

Jobs4 in the North East region is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee medium to large projects, ensuring profitability and robust commercial controls.

This permanent role in Boldon offers a car or car allowance, flexible benefits, pension, and ongoing development; you will mentor junior QS and manage contract changes.

You will review contracts, forecast cash flow, handle payments, report margins, and collaborate with project teams across the North East.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• A relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture on all project activities.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams.
• Manage changes to contractual obligations and the agreement process.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions.
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Provide reporting on costs, projections and margins.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and negotiate final accounts.
• Maintain records and participate in dispute resolution when needed.
