Job summary

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking skilled Mental Health Practitioners (Band 6) to join our new Initial Response Service (IRS) in Norfolk. You will work in a 24/7 multidisciplinary environment, performing rapid mental health and risk assessments and guiding urgent interventions to improve access and outcomes.

This senior role offers clinical leadership, supervision and support to colleagues, along with involvement in service improvement and development of compassionate care

Responsibilities

• Undertake rapid mental health and risk assessments via telephone and digital triage.
• Complete holistic mental health and risk assessments and formulate safe, person-centred care plans.
• Determine appropriate care pathways and coordinate urgent interventions and referrals.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, GPs, emergency services and community teams.
• Provide clinical advice, supervision and support to call handlers and junior clinicians.
• Contribute to service leadership, quality improvement, audit and development of the IRS.
