Job description

Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse wanting to work in an environment where kindness and teamwork are integral? Where you'll be invested in, with opportunities to develop and grow your career to achieve your goals? Then join the team at Stockwood House in Luton and come and experience what delivering great healthcare should feel like.

As an experienced Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you'll join the team at Stockwood House who care for and support people with eating disorders as a Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN) working 40.25 hours per week (12.5-hour shifts), where you will change lives for the better.

Your career at Elysium will be rewarding and fulfilling, where you can take pride in knowing that you've made a difference. While you're caring for service users, improving their lives, and supporting your colleagues, we'll be looking after you. With wellbeing support and activities to support your mental health, a range of benefits that can save you money and make a difference, and development to nurture your career.

What you will be doing:

As a qualified Senior Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you will ensure people with mental health conditions in this mental health service receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork.

The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high-quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care to service users.
  • Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant nursing qualification and registration.
  • NMC registration.
  • Two years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong team-working skills.
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach.
  • A positive attitude and a naturally caring and compassionate nature.
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice.

Where you will be working:

Locations: 32 Studley Road, 1 & 10 Cutenhoe Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 1BB

You will be working at three care homes (Ellenbrook House, Stockwood House, and Talbot House) in Luton within close proximity to each other.

The care homes provide care and support for people with eating disorders, with extra support around meals and food choices, a comprehensive group timetable, and higher levels of assistance with community activities. Recovery at Talbot House can lead to a discharge to nearby Stockwood or Ellenbrook House, which offer a more multifaceted rehabilitation plan, allowing you to be part of their longer-term recovery, seeing them improve up to being discharged.

What you will get:

  • Annual salary of £43,000.
  • The equivalent of 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays) – plus your birthday off!
  • Free meals and parking.
  • Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance.
  • 24-hour GP Service to ensure you are the best you can be.
  • Career development and training to help you achieve your career goals.
  • Pension contribution to secure your future.
  • Life Assurance for added peace of mind.
  • Enhanced Maternity Package so you can truly enjoy this special time.

There is also a range of other benefits including retail discounts, special offers, and much more.

*Applicants who require sponsorship for this role and are applying from outside the UK will be eligible for an alternative International Relocation Package, further details of which can be provided on application.
