Working hours: This role is available part-time, job-share, or full-time basis, with full-time hours being 35 hours per week.

The opportunity: Are you an experienced Medical Underwriter looking for a new challenge? Zurich Corporate Risk, one of the fastest-growing group risk providers in the market, started over 10 years ago and has continued to grow. We are looking for a Medical Underwriter passionate about medicine and delivering excellent customer service. You will assess life and income protection applications, making underwriting decisions for members of new and existing corporate schemes. Responsibilities:

• Make medical underwriting decisions within authority limits, aligned with Zurich's philosophy
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and distributors
• Support and train team members, including junior underwriters
• Stay updated with underwriting practices and market conditions
• Enhance process efficiency and effectiveness
• Meet key business and team KPIs
• Maintain relationships with medical officers and reassurance companies
• Handle queries and referrals, assessing risk and maintaining standards
• Identify process improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance and governance
• Share best practices and deliver excellent service
• Contribute to a positive team culture
• Own workload and support colleagues to meet team goals

Candidate Profile:

• Experienced medical underwriter in protection or corporate environment
• Knowledge of UK corporate risk market and underwriting philosophy
• Strong risk assessment and decision-making skills
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build stakeholder relationships
• Passionate about customer service and continuous improvement
• CII Diploma in Underwriting or equivalent preferred
