The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality administrative service to respiratory consultants, junior medical staff, specialist nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals. Previous administrative or secretarial experience is essential. Candidates should possess strong time management skills, be highly organised, and have the ability to prioritise workloads effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Applicants should have well-developed typing and keyboard skills and ideally hold an RSA Stage 3 qualification (or equivalent experience). Candidates who do not currently meet this qualification requirement but are willing to undertake the necessary training and development to achieve this standard will also be considered.
Applicants who do not currently hold the essential qualifications but can demonstrate relevant experience and a commitment to undertake appropriate training and development to achieve the required standards will be considered. Where applicable, appointments may be made under Annex 21 arrangements in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions.
The post holder will be responsible for the guidance, supervision and direction of the admin team dealing with appropriate day to day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager.
The post-holder must also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.
The Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. It is essential that the successful candidate has a flexible approach to work, to meet the demands of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
