Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking two full-time Admin Support staff to join the Mental Health & Learning Disability Division. The role provides admin support to the Mental Health Team, handling confidential information and delivering a high-quality service to patients and staff across the locality.

Fixed-term 6 months, 37.5 hours per week, NHS Band 3. The post requires good IT skills, excellent time management, and a flexible approach to meet service demands.

We have an exciting opportunity for two full-time Admin Support staff to join the Mental Health & Learning Disability Division, supporting the West Locality. These posts are offered on a fixed-term basis for 6 months.

Working as part of the wider team, the post holders will be required to provide an efficient and effective administrative service, supporting the delivery of a high-quality service to patients and staff across the locality.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to the Mental Health Team.

It is essential that the applicant holds excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and a good telephone manner. A flexible approach to work is needed to meet the demands of the service.

The post holder will possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.

The post holder will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.

Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Good standard of education – GCSE Maths & English at Grade C or above, or equivalent
  • NVQ Business Administration Level 3 or equivalent knowledge & experience, or willing to work towards
  • RSA /OCR Level 2 or equivalent experience
  • IT related qualification or equivalent experience
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information
Experience
  • Knowledge of a range of administrative & clerical processes
  • Ability to take and transcribe succinct minutes
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of working within the NHS
