RG Setsquare is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Lead to join a dedicated engineering team supporting a large, 24/7 hospital environment.

The role is hands-on with a technical leadership remit, acting as a senior mechanical authority across the estate, diagnosing faults, maintaining critical plant and driving reliability improvements. The on-call rota and opportunity to develop AP qualifications are key features.

Qualificações

• Broad mechanical building services experience across HVAC, boilers and energy centres.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills in complex, 24/7 environments.
• Authorised Person (AP) experience and familiarity with safe systems of work.
• Ability to provide technical direction and challenge existing practices.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a senior mechanical technical authority across the hospital estate.
• Provide hands-on engineering support across a broad range of mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical faults.
• Support safe, compliant and reliable operation of critical infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors and operational teams.
• Lead or support root cause investigations and permanent solutions.
• Review and develop engineering procedures and safe systems of work.
• Act as technical escalation point for complex mechanical issues.
• Mentor developing engineers and apprentices.
• Participate in senior engineering on-call rota (approximately 1 in 3 weeks).
