Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an Engineering Lead - Electrical to provide technical leadership across a large healthcare estate in Coventry. This hands-on role requires a senior electrical engineer to act as the technical authority for critical electrical infrastructure within a busy, 24/7 hospital environment.

You will mentor other engineers, own HV/LV distribution knowledge, support lifecycle projects and ensure safety, compliance and high engineering standards while staying close to core electrical

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of HV and LV distribution systems.
• Current or previous Authorised Person (AP) status.
• Extensive experience in electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance and safe systems of work.
• Current 18th Edition qualification.
• Experience in healthcare or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior electrical technical specialist across a complex healthcare estate.
• Lead the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of complex electrical faults affecting critical infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise across HV and LV distribution systems, standby generators, UPS systems and critical power supplies.
• Undertake Authorised Person (AP) duties and ensure safe systems of work are maintained across the estate.
• Support electrical lifecycle projects, asset replacement programmes and engineering improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and knowledge sharing to engineering colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with hospital stakeholders, Authorising Engineers and specialist contractors to maintain service delivery and compliance.
• Ensure engineering activities meet relevant safety legislation, technical standards and healthcare engineering guidance.
• Support the management of electrical risks and contribute to continuous improvement across critical systems.
• Participate in the senior technical on-call and escalation rota.
