Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Peterborough, UK, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems and Validation Engineer to lead system engineering and validation for complex machinery. You will translate customer needs into system requirements, lead DFMEAs, and plan validation activities with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong systems engineering, validation and leadership experience, with onsite work five days a week and a competitive salary package.

Qualifications

• Strong background in systems engineering, product development, validation engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience leading complex engineering or validation activities end to end.
• Knowledge of validation strategy and product testing, including DFMEAs.
• Ability to analyse and solve complex engineering problems with data-driven decisions.
• Proven project leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering and validation delivery for products and projects.
• Translate needs into system requirements and drive technical trade-offs.
• Shape risk strategy and develop DFMEAs with risk-based verification plans.
• Plan and coordinate validation activities, tests, and data capture.
• Analyse evidence, resolve issues, and document conclusions and learnings.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across the organisation.
