Job summary

Cortirio is hiring a Senior Mechanical Research Engineer in London to drive hands-on R&D for a head-worn brain imaging device. You’ll own data‑driven mechanical design, prototype rapidly, and validate performance with bench tests while ensuring user comfort and reliability.

You’ll join a small cross‑functional team of engineers and scientists, work mainly from our London office with flexible arrangements, and share in meaningful stock options and generous annual leave as Cortirio targets

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
• Hands-on design concept generation and experimentation.
• CAD and technical drawing proficiency.
• Experience with data management and PDM systems.
• DFM/DFA mindset across the design process.
• Prototype development with diverse materials and processes.
• Experience designing test rigs and measuring performance.
• Experience gathering user requirements and executing validation tests.

Responsibilities

• Take a data-driven, iterative approach to mechanical design and test concepts.
• Design and build benchtop rigs to characterise system performance.
• Develop a head-worn system that is comfortable, robust, and user friendly.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate components using multiple materials and processes.
• Own the mechanical engineering workspace and drive improvements in design, build and test.
• Collaborate with engineers, doctors and scientists to advance product maturation.
