Job summary

The University of Oxford’s Department of Engineering Science invites applications for a Senior Research Associate in Cerebrovascular Imaging based at the Old Road Campus Research Building in Headington, Oxford. The role centers on methodological innovation in cerebrovascular MRI and advanced image analysis, with applications to mental health and brain injury.

The appointee will contribute to projects through large imaging datasets and machine learning, within the Podium Institute for Sports

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, physics, mathematics, biomedical engineering or related quantitative field.
• Post-qualification research experience and a strong academic record.
• Expertise in MRI acquisition, image reconstruction, signal modelling or advanced image analysis.
• Experience with large imaging datasets and applying machine learning or advanced statistical methods.
• Desirable: MRI pulse sequence programming and BBB evaluation; ability to apply ML to imaging problems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in interdisciplinary research environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead methodological development in cerebrovascular MRI and related imaging modalities.
• Work with large imaging datasets and apply machine learning/advanced statistics to identify imaging markers.
• Collaborate across engineering, medical and data science teams to deliver research outcomes.
