Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure across concept through commissioning in the UK. You will deliver P&IDs, pump calculations, lifting arrangements and above-ground layouts while coordinating with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process teams to keep projects on programme and budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated member of ICE/IMechE, or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover (P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, lifting and above-ground layouts).
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to meet programme and budget.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions across design and build stages.
• Engage with clients, manage relationships, and support the mechanical engineering team development and mentoring.
