Job summary

Veolia is seeking a senior mechanical team leader to manage and mentor a team of engineers and fitters across multiple sites in the UK. You will oversee complex overhauls, repairs and modifications to dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework and valves while ensuring safe, compliant site practices under CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial environment and leading mechanical installations.
• Proven track record in asset replacement and maintenance of water/sewage treatment equipment.
• NVQ Level 3 or recognized apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance.
• Valid UK Driving Licence and Compex certification.
• Current SSSTS Card and Confined Space certification.
• First Aid and IOSH certifications required.
• Additional qualifications desired: Clean Water, SHEA Water, DSEAR Awareness.
• Preferred: PASMA and CSCS Gold Card.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers and fitters across multiple sites.
• Carry out complex asset overhauls and replacements.
• Perform mechanical repairs and modifications on dewatering equipment, pumps and valves.
• Work under CDM regulations on projects.
• Supervise on-site teams and subcontractors; stand-by and travel when needed.
• Complete test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documents.
