Job summary

XRC Robotics is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of unmanned ground vehicle platforms. You will influence design decisions, own projects end-to-end and work closely with manufacturing teams to iterate hardware rapidly.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, cross-disciplinary collaboration across mechanical, electrical and software teams, and the freedom to drive ideas into production on-site in Oxford.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing robotic platforms or unmanned vehicle systems.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and manufacturing-readiness.
• Ability to take technical ownership and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from concept through design, build and test.
• Develop robotic platforms and unmanned vehicle systems.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical and software teams.
• Translate designs to manufacturable hardware with in-house fabrication.
• Make engineering decisions and drive parts through testing.
