Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to join a fast-growing team building the world’s most capable humanoid robots. You’ll own core OS, data networks, and subsystems enabling safe human-robot collaboration.

In this role you will lead cross-functional projects, integrate sensors and computing platforms, and develop high-integrity software for deployment in real-world pilots, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying production software in embedded systems running Linux (C++, C, Rust, Python, Go).
• Experience with time-sensitive, performance-critical applications.
• Thorough understanding of Ethernet and IP networking and higher-level protocols like HTTP or gRPC.
• Experience with Linux build environments like Yocto or Buildroot.
• Experience in building Linux kernels and modifying or writing device drivers.
• Experience with Nvidia’s Jetson platform is a plus.
• Experience working with sensor data (cameras, lidars, radars, IMUs).
• Strong communication and ability to document and present complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Design & Create Embedded Software: develop and validate embedded software for real-world scale robots.
• Hardware & Software Integration: wire together sensors, actuators, and computing platforms.
• Lead Cross-Functional Projects: guide projects across domains including perception and control.
• Test & Evaluate Systems: validate safety and reliability on real robots.
• Build Infrastructure for Innovation: create tools and practices for an agile R&D team.
• Drive Safety in Robotics: focus on safety and performance in human-centric environments.
• Collaborate Across Teams: work with electrical engineers, software, and robotics specialists.
