Job summary

ASMPT is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its R&D team at the Weymouth coastal site. You will conceptualise and deliver mechanical design for SMT printing machines and the associated modules, contributing to cutting-edge projects.

The role involves developing innovative mechanical solutions across disciplines, with emphasis on safety, sustainability, and maintainability, while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent level 7 qualification or Bachelor’s Degree level 6 with senior experience or Chartered Engineer
• Understanding of dynamic mechanical, electromechanical and mechatronic systems
• Strong proficiency with MS Office
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T
• Awareness of safety, sustainability and maintainability

Responsibilities

• Develop new designs based on evolving technology.
• Carry out technical analyses and risk assessments.
• Define project requirements and lead design activities.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Lead meetings and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
