Job summary

ASMPT SMT UK Limited in Weymouth seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the R&D team. You will design and develop electrical systems for advanced manufacturing equipment, produce schematics, and maintain documentation using ePlan, while collaborating with mechanical and software engineers across the product lifecycle.

You will contribute to engineering change management, specify user requirements, and ensure compliance with EMC and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience designing electrical or electronic assemblies.
• Knowledge of CAD packages such as ePlan.
• Experience using engineering data management systems such as Teamcenter PLM.
• Good knowledge of electrical drawing standards.
• Understanding of product development and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Produce electrical designs, schematics and technical documentation using CAD tools such as ePlan.
• Contribute to product development and engineering change management.
• Investigate engineering issues and implement effective solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications and define user requirements for new developments.
• Review processes and recommend improvements to reflect best practice.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software and Manufacturing teams through the lifecycle.
• Ensure designs meet safety, EMC and relevant standards.
• Support delivery of reliable, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Work on short and long-term projects with a proactive approach.
