Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a small team on design and delivery of significant plant modification packages at Sellafield. The role focuses on process piping systems, shielding, supports and valves, aligning with high-integrity standards and regulatory requirements.

You will ensure functionality, manufacturability, constructability and maintainability across PMP packages while supporting technical authoring and presentation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small design team on major mechanical packages.
• Background in highly regulated industries.
• Familiar with high-integrity piping design and related equipment.
• Knowledge of nuclear containment and shielding principles.
• Experience producing DJR or substantiation documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team in design and delivery of complex mechanical packages.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear design standards and project schedules.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement and site teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for PMP packages.
• Maintain project timelines and resource plans.
