Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a small team on the detailed design, manufacturing support and implementation for the SIXEP project at Sellafield. You will drive piping design activities, ensure functionality and manufacturability, and coordinate with the existing design team to deliver safe, high-integrity installations.

This role requires experience in a highly regulated industry, familiarity with nuclear containment and DJR/substantiation, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Experience leading a design team on complex mechanical packages within a regulated industry.
• Proven ability to manage schedules and track activities for on-time delivery.
• Familiar with high-integrity piping installations and nuclear containment/shielding principles.
• Experience producing or checking DJR/engineering substantiation and related documentation.
• Proficient in reviewing drawings and installation methods up to manufacturing maturity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team (3-4) on detailed design, manufacturing support and implementation.
• Ensure functionality, manufacturability, constructability and maintainability.
• Support technical authoring and presentation of PMP packages.
• Keep design activities on schedule and manage resources.
• Provide regular project updates to management.
