7 Steel UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Melt Shop team in the UK. You will plan and manage mechanical activities, drive preventative maintenance, and lead a team of technicians to minimize downtime.

The role combines hands-on field work with engineering planning to keep large-scale equipment running efficiently. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and has strong experience in maintenance and reliability processes, with a track record of leading

Qualifications

• Experience with preventative maintenance and reliability engineering processes.
• Hands-on engineering background with focus on plant reliability.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage mechanical activities to minimize breakdowns.
• Ensure risk assessments, method statements and permits are created and followed.
• Estimate cost, time, and resources for repair and improvement projects.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers and shift managers for smooth operations.
• Lead projects and supervise mechanical technicians on site.
