Job summary

7 Steel UK in Cardiff is seeking a Planning Engineer to develop and maintain maintenance plans and schedules that balance maintenance needs with production priorities and resources, while prioritising safety.

You will lead SAP PM processes, coordinate planned shutdowns, and drive continuous improvement in planning. The role requires a BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum).
• Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve SAP PM maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
• Facilitate weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with Maintenance and Production teams.
• Develop weekly maintenance schedules based on preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance needs.
• Coordinate planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities to minimise production disruption.
• Promote a safe Health, Safety and Environmental culture on site.
• Support risk assessments and the development of safe systems of work.
