Qualifications

• Significant experience in mechanical engineering and design.
• A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Experience using CAD and other relevant engineering software.
• Ability to read, understand and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience working on projects from design through to completion.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Proactive, practical approach and ability to work independently.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
• Developing detailed mechanical designs, drawings and technical specifications.
• Carrying out engineering calculations and design reviews.
• Working closely with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and developing engineers.
• Reviewing designs to ensure they meet required standards, specifications and regulations.
• Identifying engineering challenges and developing practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Supporting project planning, estimating and technical documentation.
• Working with manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams.
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes and standards.
