Job summary

JP Engineering in London is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work on a varied portfolio, from concept through to completion, with direct client and design-team involvement.

You will lead your own projects, review designs, and guide junior engineers. Chartered status is preferred but not required; MIStructE/MICE is advantageous. Up to £45,000 plus benefits, permanent role with clear progression.

Qualifications

• A Civil or Structural Engineering degree is required.
• Consultancy experience is preferred.
• Strong design and analysis capabilities are essential.
• Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes is important.
• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Ambition to take on greater responsibility is desired.
• Chartered status (MIStructE/MICE) is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, design and calculations for diverse projects.
• Develop schemes from concept to detailed design.
• Produce drawings, specifications and reports.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients and fellow consultants.
• Attend design and client meetings to present findings.
• Review designs and provide technical solutions.
• Manage own projects and workload.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
