Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

I'm currently working with a well–established Building Services consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing London office.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy delivering projects across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK and Europe. The role offers genuine responsibility, leadership opportunities, client exposure and the chance to play a key role in both project delivery and business growth.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the mechanical design and delivery of multiple projects from concept through to completion. You'll take ownership of project performance, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong relationships with clients while mentoring junior engineers.
This position would suit someone who enjoys combining technical design with project management, team leadership and client–facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors.
Manage projects from tender stage through to completion, ensuring programme, budget and quality targets are achieved.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, BIM and sustainability teams throughout project delivery.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors.
Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
Monitor project profitability, programme and resource allocation.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to Graduate and Intermediate Engineers.
Ensure designs comply with current regulations, industry standards and quality procedures.
Support fee proposals and project planning.
Attend client meetings and undertake site visits across the UK where required.

About You
Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
Membership of CIBSE or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
Strong Building Services design experience within a consultancy environment.
Experience leading multidisciplinary projects.
Proven project management and resource planning skills.
Excellent client–facing and communication abilities.
Commercial awareness with experience managing project fees and budgets.
Knowledge of relevant UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry–standard engineering software.
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel when required.
