Job summary

BPA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-level professional to manage engineering projects across oil and gas pipelines, storage sites, and related facilities in the UK. You will drive studies from early design through procurement and site delivery, often overseeing small project teams.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, experience in design and consultancy, and strong planning, communication, and risk assessment skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• Experience in design, project engineering, and consultancy, ideally in energy sector (downstream oil & gas advantageous).
• Computer literacy with standard office software; familiarity with project management and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project delivery from approval through commissioning, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
• Develop technical solutions, design systems, and conduct risk assessments per industry standards.
• Coordinate clients, stakeholders, engineers, CAD staff, field personnel, contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare project estimates and commercial documentation; manage budgets and tenders.
• Support site delivery, ensuring health and safety compliance and assist with commissioning strategies.
