Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings & Places sector, specializing in data centre design and delivery. You will lead mechanical engineering projects within multidisciplinary teams across the EMEA region, delivering complex facilities for technology clients.

This strategic role entails developing thought leadership, mentoring teams, and driving the data centre practice forward as we expand globally. Hybrid work options are available, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex data centre facilities.
• Leadership of mechanical engineering projects within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to lead technical teams across geographies.
• Working towards Chartered status Engineer or Architect (or equivalent).
• Experience in data centre design and/or project management.
• Strong understanding of permitting processes, building systems, regulations, and construction methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the technical delivery experience on data centre projects for technology firms.
• A proven track record of successful project delivery as a Mechanical Data Centre Engineer.
• Lead technical teams and collaborate across geographies.
• Ambition to contribute to thought leadership and strategic growth.
• Experience in data centre design and/or project management.
• Proven experience working on complex data centre projects.
