Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing North East team, with opportunities in Newcastle or Stockton-on-Tees. You will deliver robust building services designs across commercial, industrial, healthcare and education sectors, driving technical innovation and mentoring junior engineers.

With a degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering and at least five years of experience, you will manage projects, coordinate resources, and collaborate with clients

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum of five years' relevant experience within a building services consultancy environment.
• Proven experience managing building services projects from concept through to completion.
• Ability to manage project resources, including engineering teams, project programmes, and financial performance.
• Experience mentoring or line managing graduate and apprentice engineers.
• Proficiency with industry-standard calculation software and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion.
• Manage and coordinate projects across multiple sectors.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to innovative engineering solutions.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and financial management.
• Mentor and line manage graduate and apprentice engineers.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and performance of the wider project team.
