Arc Potential Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services design across multiple projects in Inverness. You will own technical quality, programme delivery and design coordination, working directly with clients and cross‑disciplinary teams.

You will develop design strategies and technical drawings, manage workloads, mentor junior engineers and contribute to post‑contract activities while maintaining high standards aligned with client

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering mechanical designs through different RIBA stages.
• Good technical knowledge of HVAC and associated mechanical building services systems.
• Experience using relevant design software, such as Revit, CAD, Hevacomp or IES.
• Confidence managing project workloads, deadlines and technical deliverables.
• Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients and design teams.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Working towards chartered status would be advantageous.

We're working with a well‑established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Inverness, offering an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer the opportunity to take a leading role in the design and delivery of building services projects.

You’ll be involved throughout the design process, from initial concepts and technical development through to construction and completion, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands‑on mechanical design with project responsibility, client interaction and supporting the development of junior engineers.

The Role

About You

We’re keen to speak with experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineers who are comfortable taking responsibility for their own projects and contributing to wider design teams.
